Reporting to the Area Manager II, Inbound & Facilities, the Facilities Technician & Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and fully operational warehouse environment through hands-on facility maintenance and coordination of daily operations. This role oversees general repairs across key building systems—such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, conveyance, forklifts, and structural elements—while also managing vendor relationships, supply needs, and workplace organization. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively use administrative tools like JIRA & Outlook for task tracking and documentation.
Year 1 is going to be about:
- Perform general facility repairs such as minor plumbing, electric, general HVAC, lighting, conveyor maintenance, & forklift maintenance.
- Perform minor repairs on doors and dock plates to resolve problems and ensure successful operation.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and the Kansas Facilities team for any large projects.
- Onsite event support including, but not limited to, setting up and tearing down tables, picking up food, ice and/or beverages from outside vendors, filling beverage coolers, setting up and taking out trash and rearranging furniture.
- Must prioritize tasks to ensure all requests are completed in a timely manner. Communicate with and provide completed Tickets or updates daily to management. Must possess ability to oversee small/medium-sized projects within the facility and provide oversight of Third-Party vendors.
- Conduct monthly building/facilities inspections
- All other duties as needed and assigned by manager
- Oversee and ensure the maintenance shop area is organized, neat and clean.
- Identify and act immediately regarding any safety hazards, spills, etc., to avoid the risk of accidents.
- Use safe lifting techniques and operate power equipment in a safe minor.
- Abide by all stated regulations while performing works, i.e., lockout/tag out procedures, etc.
- Oversee repairs and clean-up of equipment and work areas daily.
- Detect, diagnose, and resolve basic electrical, mechanical, conveyance, and forklift problems before they impact the operation of the facility. Know when to coordinate with external services to diagnose and resolve larger facility problems or concerns.
We can’t skip over some of the specific skills and experience we know are a “must” to be successful. So, we need you to have:
- High School diploma or equivalent education preferred
- Industrial mechanic trade school courses or certificate (i.e., electrical, controls, plumbing, welding, etc.) or equivalent experience preferred
- Basic understanding of compressors and compressed air lines
- Basic understanding of hydraulics
- Possess knowledge of AC and DC electricity, including resistance, volts, watts
- Possess strong prioritization skills and be able to make decisions independently
- Possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to oversee the timely completion of multiple tasks daily
- Basic understanding of Lock Out Tag Out & energy control procedures
- Basic knowledge of computer skills including Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to operate power equipment e.g. Reach truck, electric pallet jack, order pickers, etc.
- Working knowledge of standard building codes and safety regulations
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
