Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Fulfillment, the Operations Manager, Fulfillment, is responsible for leading the Kansas Inbound operation and all KPI’s. This role will ensure the operational and financial goals are met by performing the following duties personally or through direct reports. Additionally, they will be responsible for working hand in hand with other Managers and Warehouse Leads on onboarding, training, motivation, labor planning, providing feedback, delegation, and accountability. This role will rely heavily on attention to detail and the ability to multitask between a variety of tasks daily.
Year 1 is going to be about:
- Design, implement, and constantly improve processes to optimize throughput, minimize cost/investment, and satisfy customer demands
- Report and analysis of the results of Inbound fulfillment operations on a regular periodic basis to senior management specific to SPP & weekly performance metrics
- Maintain and/or reduce cost and drives productivity within the department, with special focus on direct process path tasks and indirect tasks leveraging SPP rates, observations, calibrations and performing in the role for a set period to better understand the process.
- Recruit, train, and develop warehouse staff to build an effective and stable organization capable of executing operating plans and achieving both company and department objectives
- Demonstrate foresight and vision in identifying opportunities for improvement of scalable fulfillment operations
- Exhibit a commitment to excellence and to superior customer service – both external and internal – in every aspect of the fulfillment function
- Actively communicates, coordinates, and cooperates with other departments to optimize customer satisfaction, throughput, and efficiency
- Improve real time decision making though development of tools and techniques
- Improve processes in exception recovery processes through Zendesk, Intel agents or other “structure adding” techniques to improve flow and consistency
- Improve reporting processes to help assess what success looks like including development of reporting that can look at cost from a line and unit perspective to help us provide context and detail of what’s going on out on the floor/the operation
- Development of feedback loops for individuals and leadership team members
- Foster a safe, clean, and hospitable work environment for all employees. Emphasis on reducing recordable case rate, lost time and severity rates within the fulfillment centers
- All other duties as assigned
We can’t skip over some of the specific skills and experience we know are a “must” to be successful. So, we need you to have:
- Education: Undergraduate degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of supervisory experience in a related high-volume fulfillment center environment.
- Superior leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Sound business judgment, grounded in quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic, characterized by initiative, drive, and goal orientation
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
