Reporting to the Director, HR, the Sr. Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for performing HR-related duties, working closely with senior HR management and supporting the leadership team in Turn5’s Lenexa, KS distribution center.  This position carries out responsibilities for the following areas: recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, policy implementation, performance management and all other assigned duties. 


  • Proactively address the people needs of Turn5’s fulfillment center-based operations, maintaining strategic alignment between the business and human resources.
  • Accountable for the human resource contribution to culture and, workforce strategy and planning, workforce analytics, organizational effectiveness, training, leadership development, succession planning, employee engagement programs, performance management, compensation and rewards, and employee relations and compliance.
  • Provide daily HR guidance and consultation to both management and employees
  • Analyze trends and metrics within the business and operational areas to drive performance
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues and analyze trends for opportunity areas
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build culture, increase engagement, productivity and retention
  • Provide program, policy and procedure guidance, research and implementation
  • Identify training needs for teams and individuals and evaluate training programs
  • Partner with recruiting function, ensuring successful onboarding and overall employee experience meets Turn5 culture expectations.
  • Assist the talent acquisition team with interviewing and selecting qualified candidates
  • Analyze compensation models ensuring Turn5 remains competitive within regional market
  • Coach and develop managers and employees
  • Ensures legal compliance on employee matters regarding progressive discipline, performance improvement plans and leave management.
  • Manage Human Performance Evaluation program
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned


Specific Job Knowledge:


  • Strong understanding of recruitment and pipeline development
  • Intermediate proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Strong understanding of benefits and FMLA
  • Intermediate to advanced interviewing skills
  • Working knowledge of human resource and employment law
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Oral and written communication, interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or similar field
  • Experience: 5-8+ years
