Reporting to the Operations Manager, Fulfillment & Facilities, the Facilities Manager is responsible for creating, leading, and directing the company's office services, real estate, facilities operations, construction, cleaning, and building security. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the operational and financial goals are met by performing the following duties personally or through direct reports. 

Responsibilities

Real Estate

  • Assist the Ops Manager of Facilities in coordinating and overseeing all new construction, renovations, and projects of new and existing facilities.
  • Primary company contact for all landlord, property management, local municipalities, real estate, and utilities.

Operations

  • Establishes current and long-term facilities objectives, plans, and policies, subject to approval by management.
  • Review operating results of department and compares them to other employee centered companies.
  • Make recommendations on adding amenities that matter to the experience and well-being of our employees.
  • Establishes and maintains an effective two-way communication system between employees and operations.
  • Manage Facilities Technicians, Office Managers, contracted vendors, main reception function, visitor management, and building security.

 Employee & Physical Safety

  • Assist in implementing company security and safety programs that includes awareness programs encompassing people, property, and protection of information.
  • Participate and assist lead all safety committee meetings

Facilities Services

  • Provide all employees with the necessary resources to work effectively and efficiently within a unique organizational structure.
  • Oversee, negotiate, control costs, and manage all third-party contractors; Including but not limited to: Electricians, HVAC, Forklifts, Conveyor, Cleaners, Office Supplies, First Aid/AED, and Coffee/Vending.
  • Manage the Forklift fleet; inclusive of Fleet Readiness, Uptime Percentage, and preventative maintenance

Specific Job Knowledge

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities operation
  • Certifications in project management and/or facilities management preferred
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems and opportunities, identify, and evaluate alternatives and develop sound, effective approaches
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain strictest confidentiality
  • Ability to promote and maintain a positive image of the company to employees, vendors, and members
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to advance several company-critical initiatives at once.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with peers and employees; ability to present information and make effective recommendations to senior management.
  • Ability to work effectively in both a fast pace entrepreneurial environment, approaching problems and conflicts professionally and constructively

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience:  3-5 years
