The SEO Manager is responsible for successful Search Engine Optimization strategy and execution across our three ecommerce domains; as well as effectively managing the necessary teams internally and externally. The SEO Manager reports to the Chief Marketing Officer. Success is measured by his/her impact on SEO traffic and revenue and ability to successfully strategize, prioritize and execute SEO projects effectively.

 

This role relies on the candidate’s ability to remain well-versed in the industry best practices and technical guidelines/strategies, use that knowledge to develop a cohesive & successful strategy and execute effectively against it. This includes link building, content & on-site strategies. He/she will be expected to work effectively with the Turn5 web development team and Product data team to help achieve these goals. Types of projects include: internal linking optimization, strategic indexation of faceted navigation & user generated content, content strategy & execution, creating long tail optimization strategy, etc.

 

Management experience, including internal and external partnership relationships is preferred. Ecommerce SEO experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the CMO, drive the process of determining and prioritizing projects across SEO
  • Strategize and manage SEO link building, content, and on-site optimization (keyword, technical, internal linking, etc.)
  • Perform role as internal subject matter expert in SEO & influence projects throughout the organization with SEO in mind.
  • Maintain up to date keyword targets across all Turn5 properties, fueled by paid search data & other sources as necessary
  • Analyze organic channel KPIs regularly and measure efforts against them
  • Manage effectively and with intent; hold the team accountable, set clear direction & success metrics

 

Specific Job Knowledge

  • Application of SEO industry best-practices are crucial for success
  • Ability to inspect basic HTML, JAVA, & CSS for accuracy is important
  • Familiarity with CMS functionality is recommended
  • Project management fundamental knowledge is a benefit (recommended tools: JIRA, Asana, etc.)
  • Agency and external contributor relationship management
  • Contract negotiation skills (RFPs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of aftermarket auto parts industry preferred
  • Intermediate/Advanced MS Office knowledge is required
  • Google Analytics, Google Search Console knowledge needed
  • SEO crawling software experience (e.g. ScreamingFrog, DeepCrawl, etc.)
  • Tableau experience preferred

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent amount of experience and education
