Reporting to the VP of Product, this is an amazing opportunity to make an impact on a growing team!  This UX Designer will be responsible for delivering an intuitive, engaging experience for users of our e-commerce websites, apps, and across devices.

Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive, usable and fun interfaces and interactions to continuously improve Turn 5’s e-commerce sites and applications, driving a best-in-class user experience on mobile and desktop devices
  • Research and produce deliverables in support of design planning and process (e.g. competitive analysis, heuristic analysis, qualitative user research and analyses)
  • Create wireframes, process flows, high fidelity mockups and prototypes as needed. Present ideas and solutions effectively and facilitate productive feedback and refinement.
  • Ensure design solutions are technically viable and comprehensive by working directly with the software product and development teams in design and implementation phases. Create and refine stories to document design spec and requirements, scope, and implement. 
  • Collaborate with software product and marketing teams to develop design solutions and strategy in support of iterative practices (e.g. a/b testing, analysis-driven iterations)
  • Componentize, define, and enforce standards for consistent styles and components across the e-commerce sites. Work collaboratively with front end development team to build out and maintain the design system framework.
  • Lead and leverage customer data and research to solve problems and created purposeful and impactful design that deliver results. 

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years designing customer-facing experience (web, mobile, app), working with agile product management and software development teams. Direct e-commerce experience preferred.
  • Strong web design portfolio demonstrating clean, intuitive, and functional UI design, and an in-depth understanding of usability and best practices
  • Experience with design systems and component based design
  • Good grasp of and current front-end development capabilities – HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
  • Direct experience with ticketing and documentation tools e.g. Jira / Confluence
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Sketch, Figma, and/or equivalent design collaboration tools
  • Independent, self-starter that can balance small optimizations and in-depth complex projects
  • Strong communication skills.   Able to explain the "why" behind the design, present concepts to senior leaders, and welcome feedback.
  • Education: AA, AS, ASS or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Formal visual design training a plus.
