    To continue our growth path, we need an Area Manager for our fulfillment center in Lenexa, KS. This is a critical leadership role, so we need someone who has “been there and done that” as it relates to providing leadership and direction to the outbound function.


    You will be challenged to work both strategically and tactically across all fulfillment activities.  One minute you might be planning, evaluating, organizing, and delegating the duties for the day to your team, the next minute working with an employee to ensure their productivity goals are met, and the next minute performing extensive analysis and report building. Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work with diverse stakeholders across the organization.


    • Supervises employees to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action and performance management.
    • Monitor department and individual KPI’s to ensure productivity goals are met while working with employees to improve performance standards as needed.
    • Executing weekly performance conversations with employees delivering their weekly metrics.
    • Conducting shift start-up meetings with associates to discuss daily results, shift and departmental goals, safety/housekeeping issues, and work assignments.
    • Review and post weekly, month to date and quarter to date productivity results for individual and team performance.
    • Manage workflow in a manner so that department productivity, service level agreement and quality goals are met or exceeded.
    • Take the necessary action to address issues consistent with the Progressive Coaching and Counseling plan.
    • Plans, directs and coordinates the activities of the department in an organized, safe and sanitary work environment that aligns with Turn5 policies, OSHA and government regulations.
    • Clearly communicate the responsibilities of the department leads requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating.
    • Using Tableau reporting dashboards to ensure all shipping metrics and standards are being tracked and met on a daily/weekly basis.
    • Coordinate and ensure all issue trackers have been entered correctly
    • Maintain and/or reduces cost and drives productivity within the department
    • Provides management of employees directly or through the leads to ensure effective selection of work, retention and development of employees, disciplinary action and performance management unitizing the Tableau Reports.
    • Responsible for the efficient operations of the WMS (Powerhouse) and assuring ADP data is updated and submitted to HR.
    • Communicate any problems that arise with a sense of urgency.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by manager


    We can’t skip over some of the specific skills and experience we know are a “must” to be successful.  So, we need you to have:

    • 2-4 years of experience in a related environment serving in a similar leadership capacity
    • Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
    • Proficient in warehouse management systems and purchase order management systems
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
    • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
    • Ability to make decisions to achieve desired results
    • Demonstrate satisfactorily oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
