Whether it’s supplying a unique product that customizes the look and feel of their ride, providing thousands of educational videos for the DIYer or leveraging user generated content to inspire even the most experienced owner, we are obsessed with ensuring we reach as many like-minded gearheads across the globe.

     

    To continue our growth path, we need an Associate Category Buyer to grow our onsite vendor and product base. Your mission is to ensure we achieve best possible product assortment for our customers. By focusing on identifying product line gaps, researching the market and competitive landscape for hot sellers and trends, and onboarding new brands and products for our site, you will play a big role in making sure our customers keep coming back for more. 

     

    You will be challenged to work both strategically and tactically across our merchandising function.  One minute you might be researching new vendors, the next minute calling on a new business opportunity, and the next negotiating contract terms with a supplier. Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work with diverse stakeholders across the organization.

    Responsibilities

    Year 1 is going to be about:

     

    • Growing revenue through the onboarding of new products, including new supplier negotiation and onboarding
    • Managing vendor negotiations and creating new value proposition strategies to procure additional vendor funding
    • Managing the business through regular reporting and analysis of category performance and site goals
    • Executing merchandising and promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategies

    Qualifications

    We can’t skip over some of the specific skills and experience we know are a “must” to be successful.  So, we need you to have:

     

    • 2+ years of experience, ideally in a role that focuses on new business development, sales, or related field
    • Comfort level with prospecting new vendors and cold calling
    • Strong communicator, both written and oral
    • Ability to analyze data and develop insights to drive the business
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
