The Photography Studio Manager is responsible for running the day to day operations of Turn5's photo studios. They will manage the team of installation & inventory specialists along with the photographers to ensure product is continuously flowing through each of the studios and the studios are efficiently maximizing time for optimal production.


This is a unique opportunity best described as a hybrid role of photography, automotive research, product installation supervision and inventory management to assure a wide variety of studio personnel can efficiently stay on top of a constant, high-volume workload. He/she will directly report to the Sr. Production Manager – Photo/Copy. Strong communication and leadership will be required for this role and prior management of process or personnel is a must.


How you’ll spend your time with us

  • Directly manage and work with the team of Installation & Inventory Specialists along with the Photographers to solve problems, provide guidance, creative intuition and help with the occasional install when needed

  • Proactively identify areas of improvement in studios to create efficiency
  • Make sound judgement calls on any installation issues that arise

  • Ensure all studios and the garage area are clean, organized and have the necessary supplies

  • Work with Sr. Production Manager – Photo/Copy to help plan shoots by supplying accurate install information

  • Work with other departments regarding fleet availability and usability

  • Work with the Post Production Manager if there are questions regarding install capability vs. being able to handle the issue in post

  • Research products ahead of schedule – procure additional parts if needed

  • Be available from during all shifts to answer any questions that arise. This is a regular shift at 40 hours per week but due to a management role it may require communication outside of regular working hours via email or phone

  • Remain current on new vehicle models, photography trends, techniques, gear and competitive market

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on procuring product for all studios


Key Role Requirements

  • Education: AA or BA degree in Photography or related industry experience

  • Experience:  4-8 years of management experience in a studio or production setting

  • Strong team management of 5+ members

  • Strong issue resolution skills

  • Strong creative problem solving capabilities

  • Adept communicator both verbally and in written form
  • Experience with using data and metrics to measure performance
  • Strong understanding of the photographic process

  • Highly organized and self-motivated

  • Strong prioritization skills

  • Strong visual aesthetic

  • Maintain safety standards

  • Acute attention to detail

  • Knowledge of automotive parts

  • Understanding of Mustangs, F150’s and Jeep Wranglers is a plus

  • Basic tool knowledge
